Generally, people are not aware of the possibilities a healthy mind can do to bring about a balanced life to a person. A life where a person can adapt to changing realities in a positive way and cope with adversities to reach full potential.
Consider the possibilities where a person can live healthier style of living; fast recovery from ailments; limit obstructions in daily living; higher educational attainment; productivity and earnings in the workplace; healthy relationships with people. These are the results of a positive mental health and a strong mind centered on achieving a full life.
The experiences we go through each day impacts a person and how that person think, feel, and behave or cope with tough situations. Tough situations

The ability of a person to face each challenge daily encountered is influenced by the person’s attitude and attributes, by social circumstances the person is in for each moment of encounter, and the environment. The person’s ability to act in the face of a tough situation is further influenced by biological factors, family history, and past experiences. These factors are not exclusive, but interact with each other and could either threaten or protect the person’s mental health.
Mental health and mental stability encompass the totality of a person: emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It determines how a person feels, think, and responds to challenges. Training the mind to be strong in the face of adversities and developing mental stability is therefore necessary for a person.
Many people, however, tend to take mental health for granted due to various misconceptions to the concept of mental health. Mental health is associated and immediately elicits the picture of mental disorder. This association of mental health and mental illness deters a person developing mental stability. Here are a few of these beliefs that hinder an individual from confronting reality:

It is not a fad that will go out of style or become outdated since daily trials and travails will not go out of fashion. They are everyday realities one has to face with a strong mind, if man is to survive in a complex world.
“People are either strong or weak mentally”
Saying that an individual is either mentally strong or mentally weak is a fallacy. A person is both mentally strong and mentally weak, depending on the situation and the persons conditioning. Each person possesses the capacity to be mentally strong to some degree and all have the capacity to become stronger.
However, becoming strong require a personal commitment, exercise and practice in mental toughness. Just like the body needs physical fitness through exercise and practice, so does the mind need mental exercise and practice to achieve mental toughness and a strong mind.
