Gideon was a young man who freed the Israelites from the Midianites. He was the most unlikely candidate for God’s plan. He was from the smallest clan and was the youngest member of his family. God, however, saw greatness in Gideon and called him to free the Israelites.
Gideon’s story begins with the Israelites turning away from God. God punished them by delivering them to the Midianites for seven years. I have learned more about God in the past month than I have learned my whole life. It is no mistake that I felt a feeling of warmth when I first entered the campus. There was something different about it, I now realize that it is the presence of the Lord. Just as God called me to Crown, He also has called me to teaching. I feel that it is my responsibility to educate the next generation and to show them the beauty of the Lord. God has given me a love for children and I hope to use this love to glorify him. I love seeing children run up to their teachers and give them a big hug. They then begin talking about their newest adventure with such enthusiasm it makes my heart break with joy.
