Introduction
Martin Luther King Jr. is still remembered as one of the most prominent and important leaders and activist in the history of theUnited States. The letter in the text was written by Luther during his time in jail as he suffered and was punished like all great leaders who fight and stand up for themselves. The context of the fight and thought was long engrossed in his thinking because of the racial criticism he faced all his life because of his color.The black Americans and natives had long been living side by side with the Americans and for decades they had been subject to oppressions and cruelty along with hatred by the whites in America.

From the jail King wrote letters to address the criticisms and issues and propagandas being raised against him by the whites and non-supporters. The main importance of the letter states that why King feels the need to bring reforms and to change the way the people think. He gave importance to the grey areas that existed between the white and black Americans that everyone was aware about but they did not know what to do about them.
The letter discussed and focused on two main themes; justice and equality. The letter was developed initially as a response to the allegations and issues that Martin was aware were being raised about him and felt the need to re-direct the attention. The letter was an attempt to explain the real, social and virtual causeof defining the ground and basis for his protests. He saw that the focus was being taken on the wrong side and he wanted people to know what the reality behind his search was and fight for equality and justice.
