Mandatory School Uniform

Great Essays
All schools should require mandatory school uniforms across the country. School uniforms are a way for the students to show how they are all together as one and show a sense of amity with other students. This is also costs less money for students who don’t have the option of buying clothes that fit the latest trends. The school uniforms show discipline and the schools pride of coming together as one and not singling out students based on their appearance. Also as this requires them to focus more on students’ education rather than what they wear which would result in higher grades and a higher graduation rate.

That is school work, attendance, and grades. Which is why having school uniforms is a good thing because it takes away from the bullying and adds to the outcome of the students.
Continuing on with the pros of school uniforms it is proven that they are a more cost efficient way to provide proper attire for students. A recent study shows that the average amount of money it costs for parents or guardians to supply the children in their care with “good” clothes and shoes is $606 per child with everyday attire that doesn’t include the dress-up clothes and other attire. Say a family with four children uses this statistic it would cost them a total of $2,242 a year if they didn’t shop for clothes during the rest of the year that is, but if you look at this statistic compared to say the cost to supply a school uniform that would most likely last the student the entire year then you would see how beneficial and cost efficient school uniforms would be. The average cost of a school uniform for parents would be $249 that is more than half the cost of normal back to school shopping expenses. Now if you were to take a family with four children and apply the same experiment you would end up with $996 that is way cheaper than the yearly cost of $2,242.

However, according to a national survey of 2013 shows that 94% of parents agree that school uniform is more cost – effective than regular outfits. Actually wearing uniform helps to reduce the money paid on casual clothes, hence students will have to change their outfits every day during the year and pay more money to get fashionable clothes to impress their peers. Besides that casual clothes used for school is different from the clothes chosen for outside of school so two different wardrobes can become exhausting on the wallet. Therefore wearing uniforms will be more affordable for the families who are coming from different financial levels and cheaper because first of all they don’t have to change it from day to day, parents usually get two uniforms in the beginning of the year and that set, second of all usually the uniforms are dark colored so they don’t need to be washed and changed every day. Furthermore it is not only cheaper but actually easier to wear and more comfortable for example students who wear uniforms need less time to dress up, while students who wear casual clothes will spend much more time every morning thinking of what to wear every…

It addresses the peer pressure on wearing specific brands or styles of clothes to fit into a group.…
