Love and sacrifice go together like a bird and its wings. In order to really love, someone must be prepared to make a sacrifice for the other person. Love is not about making one’s self happy, it is about what is best for the person one “loves,” even if it means losing something that means a lot to a person. Some people do not even realize they are in love until they take a huge risk for someone. Real love leads people to make a sacrifice in order to maintain a healthy, positive relationship, such as sacrificing in pride, wealth, faith, independence and physical well being. The best times to show true love are when it is not easy and it requires personal sacrifice. In “The gift to MAGI,” the poor couple makes a sacrifice to make each other happy without even knowing what they did for each other till the end. Martin Luther King Jr. lost his life trying to better the lives of those who are African-American people. He died from trying to get justice so that everyone was able to have their own
