As I was trained to become open with each other and started to become someone that is able to listen to other people’s opinion, I was elected to become one of the senator of the DASB, De Anza Student Body, and the public relation officer of the UNICEF club. As the senator of the student body, I was interested in persisting my previous career in high school, which was creating big events. As a result, I volunteered myself in joining the Diversity and Events department and started to participate in the DASB events such as, an open mic day, Martin Luther King day, Presidents day, and etc. Similarly, as the public relation officer of the UNICEF club, I had the responsibility to promote and contact the students of De Anza to participate in our volunteer events such as making an event in the Ronald McDonald children house and participating in the breast cancer walk annually. Statistically, I was able to attract about 50 people to join both my events from the DASB and the UNICEF club. Thus, I can conclude that I have this ability to compile students and get well on with each other.

My research skills grew through this trip provided by Mrs. Mohr. When I first heard about the trip, I wasn’t so interested because I thought all colleges were the same, but my friends then told me to give it a try and that I might end up liking one of the schools, which did end up happening. One extremely helpful thing I learned was that always try to visit the campus first, before applying because you might get accepted and eventually hate it. I have also learned to always look at the majors, programs, activities, etc a school has. I believe this trip has helped me determine how I will research the school and help me decide whether or not I will apply there.…

I, along with a group of five other students, founded this drug prevention club my senior year, because it was something that my team and I were extremely passionate about. I was responsible for recruiting and retaining membership throughout the year and the club grew from five to twenty members in just one year. I was in charge of planning and running the events and activities for the kids at these events.…
