Reflection On The Learning Styles Inventory Test

I have always enjoyed talking personality tests to learn and establish what my strengths and weaknesses are, and to unravel perhaps a hidden ability (or disability) I had that I was never fully aware. In other words, I like talking personality tests to plainly find out the results, no matter how accurate or off-putting, and I was not disappointed when I found out the results to the “Learning Styles Inventory” test. In order from highest to lowest, my inventory score was as followed: visual, kinesthetic, and auditory. Not knowing what each of these learning abilities quite meant, however, I read the “Characteristics of Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic Modes” as the bottom of the second page, and found it very telling. In the “Multiple Intelligences Assessment,” I scored the highest on self, or intrapersonal, followed by language (linguistic) and social (interpersonal). Like with the “Learning Styles Inventory” test, I was neither surprised nor disappointed to find out my results. I found myself getting excited reading the definition for each intelligence because it perfectly described how I think, how I act, what I enjoy, and what I try to avoid. For example, I like to develop ideas and learn from other people (interpersonal), I like to spend time by myself and think things over (intrapersonal), and I enjoy exploring and developing my love of words. I think it is also worth noting that intelligences that I scored the lowest on, math and musical, is also something I was no surprised to find out, for math has never been my strong suit and music has never been anything near an

He recalled the MBTI during this discussion and stated that, for his time and effort, it was a better tool of self-exploration than the 16 PF. The examinee reported that he believed he may have over thought on the multiple intelligences assessment. He said that he found himself looking for exceptions to most of the statements which may have skewed his results. This is likely true since the results from this test are out of step with the other assessments. He believes that his primary intelligences should rank verbal/linguistic first, followed by interpersonal, followed by musical.…

After completing the Literacy Net and the Edutopia quizzes, I scored the highest in interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligences. I researched these intelligences and I would agree that those are the top intelligences in my life. These two have provided me with the most support and I have used them the most in my college life. Interpersonal intelligence shows that I enjoy talking to other people and using my social skills. I enjoy one-on-one conversation and normally given a deeper knowledge about the subject when I have deep conversations about views and perspectives of others.…

Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner after he suggests or questions that the traditional notion and definition of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. He found that people had many other gifts and talents that weren't necessarily reflected in the traditional ideals of intelligence. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and adults. Out of the eight intelligences, two have been typically valued in schools, the other four are usually associated with the arts and the remaining two are what Howard Gardner called ‘personal intelligences’.…

By reading the different intelligences that Howard Gardner wrote, I think my strongest two areas of intelligence would be Bodily-Kinesthetic, and Interpersonal. Bodily-kinesthetic to me is when you can learn things hands on to understand the picture better and get a better visual that makes since to you. I chose this one because I feel I learn better with hands on things. I understand when there is something in front of me and I can see and see how the instructor teaches us how to do what she just did. One of the examples on how I learn hands on is at school, we have classes that deal with us setting up things and passing instruments.…
