I ask God every day, “Please keep my thoughts positive and filled with hope so you and I can create an awesome life filled with love...” What helps me to stay upbeat is prayer, meditation, and trusting my intuition. I do my best stay away from negativity, whether that is the news, books, movies, and people. Another thing that helps is when something upsets me: I allow my feelings to come up, release my emotions, and may focus on what’s wrong with the person or situation for a little while (hey, I am human). Then I look within myself to see my part: did I cause it, is it a reflection of me, is there an issue I need to resolve, what steps I need to take, and what I learned from it.…

If I thought negatively all the time, then the outcome of me being a happy person in the future is slim. Optimism is the basis for leading a successful life, a person can only be successful both mentally and physically if they have a positive outlook on the…

Dr. Firestone advises people use Dr. Daniel Siegel’s method of stopping negative emotions by using a COAL attitude, which is where a person will be curious, open, accepting, and loving to themselves and others (How Negative Thoughts Are Ruining Your Life).
