While I was on nurse’s duty, a counselor told the nurses that their camper had been drinking all day and had yet to void. We, as the nursing staff, were given the information that he had drank a normal amount of fluid, had the urge to go, but was unable to go since the night prior. The nurses came together to give the counselor some advice on how to fix the situation. We collaborated and suggested different techniques s to try such as warm water or letting the sink run. After the counselor left the nurses and I talked about what could be going wrong. With this, we looked up his medication to see if there was something that we could give him to help him out. After a few hours past and the camper was still unable to void. The nurses and I discussed straight catheterization which we all decided was quite invasive and that the camper should try to wait it
