The Internship with Pepco Holding Inc. was a complete learning experience all the way around. As, interns we worked independently and had to work towards the goal of our company to develop a diverse workforce. We was told our object which was to develop a diverse applicant pool and execute a recruiting strategy and participate in job fairs and recruitment activities. We had to come up with a way to make our object happen and be successful for us. Also, we had to figure out ways to interact with individuals at these events we would attend them. The solution to that was developing the “Wheel of Careers and “PHI Career Plinko” that would attract individuals to come over to us and give the advantage to then inform about career opportunities. …show more content…
An experience like this definitely opens your eyes to the business world and how things are done in companies. I have gained so much knowledge and information that I did not know before, but now I know how to all the things that I was required to do within the internship for the Talent Acquisition team. The policies apply to PHI’s directors, employees and all others working at PHI or its subsidiaries. Everyone is expected to have a continuing responsibility, to comply with the Business Policies in every decision made and in every action taken in the conduct of the company 's business. The company has about twenty-nine different business policies like Codes of Conduct, Insider Trading, Social Media, Employee Safety, and Running for Office. The dress standards for the internship was business casual in the office and for recruitment events the company shirt and khakis or black slacks.
