Importance Of International Women's Day

I would first say a big thank you to everyone here that came out for this important event. In honor of International Women’s Day, UCSI University is hosting the 4th Annual International Women’s Week. This special occasion is to celebrate the greatness of women and gender equality. To match the #PressforProgress theme of International Women’s Day, UCSI University has prepared several activities that could bring people together and to help bring awareness of gender inequality. Being built on principles of audacity, perseverance, integrity and excellence, UCSI University is more than delight to be part of this celebration. International Women’s Day exists only because of the unfair treatment towards women compared to men. It helped women realize their own value and provide support to achieve what they want. Education for women in less developed country had also improved through this occasion. This event honors women who had contributed to our lives and society. On this day, people would unite to appreciate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Women would also find alternative methods to voice out their opinion to help contribute in pushing gender equality. This is where people combine these opinions and overcome the obstacles together. The collective action of promoting gender equality is one of the main reason of International Women's Day to be successful. This has gained a lot of support as it also brought people together as one. In a world where a lot of issues are controversial and arguments were easily formed, International Women’s Day has shown the positive side of the world.
