Information Technology can help you in many different aspects of your life. A few of these would be your social life, your educational future, in your future profession, and to get a deeper understanding of computer programs and networking. I intend to carry over all of the knowledge I obtained during this week throughout my entire stay here at Job Corps and with any sort of computer assignment I may receive in the future. The personality test we took during this course was even beneficial to me because it gave me reassurance as to who I truly am as a person. It helped me touch base with my true feelings and emotions. I was also able to finally create a resume during this course, which will assist me in finding a job in the future because I …show more content…
These reasons include having access to all of my teacher or counselor’s e-mails. By having access to all of these e-mail addresses I will be able to keep up to date with all of the assignments I may need to turn in or that I may have coming up. Thanks to this class I am also able to function Microsoft Word much more efficiently than I was able to prior to coming on center. I had forgotten a vast majority of the tools and functions that Microsoft Office is able to perform. I had completely forgot how to work Microsoft Power-point but after completing this course I will be able to create an entire slideshow including clip-art’s, still images, 10 plus slides, and header and footer’s. I will be able to carry these skills I have obtained into any profession that I may pursue because Microsoft Office is the main source of programs that are needed to complete any task on the computer. Thanks to this class I will not feel completely helpless when I get assigned to create a spreadsheet on excel, a slideshow on power-point, an essay or official document on Microsoft Word with a proper format. In college power-points and essays are vital to your success throughout the course, over 90 percent of the assignments I receive will require me to use a computer to complete …show more content…
This class has improved my typing skills which will benefit me even when it comes to social networking. The power-point presentation practice will assist me with any sort of display I may need to do in order to progress through the company I am with in the future. Without this class I honestly do not think that I would have been able to complete assignments and tasks that I received through Job Corps in the future. I feel that this class was very beneficial to me and anybody else that took it for an endless amount of reasons, it is just a matter of whether or not you are willing to accept new information and knowledge. At first I was a little iffy about taking an intro to technology course considering I have always been very advanced when it comes to computers. But once I began the course I realized on the very first day that I had forgotten a lot of key components that are necessary to complete quality work on the computer. I am very appreciative that this course was placed in the second week of the introductory phase at Job Corps because that is the perfect time for it considering the fact that the first week we did not need any computer knowledge, and from here on out we will most likely need computer knowledge the entire way through our

Hello, My reason for substituting this course is due to the fact that I have already learned the knowledge and concepts from a course taken from a previous school (ENGL 102 from the Community College of Philadelphia) which satisfy the course objectives for ENGL 202C. With this course, I learned the techniques I need to write an effective technical paper. During this course, I wrote multiple papers which dealt with various aspects of our world today, such as science and technology, social interaction, and economic facets. This gave me an advantage because not only did I know how to write an effective paper in science and technology (the main theme of ENGL 202C), I also wrote on other factors of life which allowed me to broaden my horizon and…

I would have. The reason I would have let Paul go by his request is because no business needs an individual that treats their workers the way he does and because of his insubordination towards higher ups. His actions during the meeting should show you the way he carries himself at work. Ways businesses are dealing with these situations are by making sure to document all interactions with employees. Also companies are stepping up the way they recruit employees.…

Before this course, I did not know grammar well, and what I did know I did not fully understand. Yet, due to taking the course, I learned more about the structure of the English language, and can use grammar better than I did before. For instance, the first three major assignments were filled with missing comas, verb-tense misuses, and run-on sentences. Now, I may still make mistakes, but I know why I have made them. In other English courses, I had grammar homework and reading assignments that, often, seemed to be busy work, but with this course, I did not think that was the case.…

Coming to Carleton in September I thought I had a decent grasp on general business know how and how business worked, but after taking this course I have learned how little I knew, and how much there was for me to learn. So far in the course I would say I have learned a ridiculous amount, from business language to the skills you need to have a successful interview. In this memo, I will be covering a number of lessons I have learned, and these fall into three categories. The first being what I learned from the course, mostly what I learned in lectures and doing Learnsmart questions. These lessons have been predominantly the knowledge I have acquired through the professor and the textbook.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

I personally have noticed many changes throughout this course. I mostly noticed how now I analyze my jobs more with my coworkers, bosses and myself. I have one job that I absolutely love and another one that I do not care for very much, I did not really understand why because I get along well with my coworkers and higher ups. As our course went on and I started to understand business some more I then realized why there were certain things that were shaping my views about my jobs. One big thing that I noticed was the team work at my jobs.…

Learning can be interpreted in many ways to different individuals, although to me learning is about gaining knowledge and embracing every experience encountered and linking it to any task. Also I would explain that being open minded is a strong attribute to apply during the learning process. During my week one I stated that learning is to open and broaden an individual’s mind on subjects to gain knowledge or skills, and I’ve grown to realize its more than that. People can learn using different methods and be more responsive to one rather than the other. I am a Strong-Willed learner.…

Goal I The first goal of the program was to “Apply major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology to prepare for graduate study or careers in which psychological training is relevant”(). Two classes met this goal, Introduction to Psychology (PSY 111) taken at Anne Arundel Community College, and Introduction to Counseling Psychology (PSYC 432) taken at the University of Maryland University College. Introduction to Psychology was the first psychology course I took many years ago. It was the class I took because I had an empty slot on my schedule.…

This course has improved my reading, writing and research skills to the point that I now have some skills in the area. Through making me pay close attention to all of the little details that I would normally not notice, my reading skills have improved to allow me to find important information within the text that I would normally not notice. I’ve improved my writing skills by becoming aware of the vocabulary and grammar that I would use within an essay. My research skills have gone from non-existent to knowing something about it.…

When I first began this class I thought that this would be just another introductory class that is required to orient you to the expectations of the particular college. Now, after completing this class, I know that this is not the case. Personal Dimensions of Learning has been a great help, not only to my school work, but also in my daily life. Before taking this class, I thought that learning, and completing daily tasks, were mostly memorizing the order of the way things are supposed to be done and just completing the task. I never liked this strategy, but it always seemed to be the most convenient way to get things done at school, home, and work.…

I loved that I was able to take what I had learned in class and be able to apply it in lab and have hands on experiences with the subject we were learning about. I am able to understand topics more thoroughly and learn better if I am able to do it and see it myself.…
