Importance Of Individual Freedom

Individual freedoms are exponentially more important than social order. Individual freedoms let you choose where you are in the social order. The social order is a set of guidelines that let you barely succeed, once you break enough of this guidelines then you will succeed better than anyone in your social order. According to Apa.org, the higher class you are in, the more independent you are. "By contrast, those who enjoy more resources and greater class status live in contexts that enhance their personal power and freedom — larger and safer living spaces, the means to buy high-priced goods and experiences, and education that provides access to influential people, ideas and venues. These conditions give rise to a more self-focused approach to life, the theory states."(apa.org). Also, the same website says, that if you are lower in class, you are more likely to have health problems. "people who perceive themselves as lower in rank have worse health outcomes overall than those who see themselves as higher ranking, research finds."(apa.org) Individual freedoms let you "fake it til you make it" and by the research above, there will be many effects to you life.

It has been used to explain violence and crime. If we use this definition, diversity of cultural beliefs and values do cause conflicts. Some example include: The Holocaust, when China overthrew Mao Zedong, and many more. These conflicts drive change, but many cultures do not want any change at all. When I went to San Francisco, a more culturally diverse place, I saw strikes being held by blacks, Asians and other ethnic groups.
