A team with many different members bringing their individual strengths and viewpoints can be far more productive than the traditional hierarchal leadership structures (Weberg & Weberg, 2014). Collaboration is essential in nursing practice and leadership. Given the complexities of patient care in a rapidly changing healthcare system, we must create teams of leaders who will each bring their unique vision, and we must foster and encourage new ways to problem-solve and adapt using innovation.
