Human Resource planning at Tesco is conducted with the objective of making sure that the function of human resource acts as vital asset for the entity. It helps to ensure that there are no issues arising in the organization as a result of a lack of human resource. Some of the main reasons for the process of planning human resources in Tesco include the following:
First, the planning is to ensure that the right number of potential employees is available to the firm when they are needed. Planning is done prior to expansion of any other business practice conducted by the entity (Aslam 204). The second reason is that human resource at Tesco makes certain the proper set of skills match the requirements of the institution. Thirdly, the process of human resource planning is performed with an aim to manage the entire cost assigned to the human resource function. Human resource recruited in the organization has a certain budget for the whole financial year and a planning procedure would ensure that there is no surplus budget apportioned for the function of human resource in the firm. Lastly, the HR ensures that applicants are available at the appropriate time (Aslam 205).
