Two modules I find best reflect me are human nature and cultural diversity and doing together what we would not do alone. Both of these topics fall under the category of social influence. After further researching the topics I discovered how easily influenced I was by friends, family, and society without noticing. Human nature has evolved over time. One of the most well known naturalists to contribute to the theory of evolution was Charles Darwin. His theory of natural selection explained passing on traits of our species. Organisms have offspring whom all fight for survival. The biological and behavioral traits of these organisms change in order to better fight for survival. Prior to researching, if someone asked me if I was a follower or were more inclined to do things in groups I would say no. Following the research I discovered how often I act differently in groups than I do alone. Deindividuation explains how when we loose self-awareness in a group setting it hinders our responsiveness to our norms. When in a group, the arousal combined with the decreased amount of responsibility can cause people to act impulsively. At times in a group setting I have noticed I feel unidentifiable. When out at a club I always want to go and dance because there are many people up dancing; however, if I walked into a bar and everyone was sitting down I would never go in the middle and start …show more content…
However, one thing I believe is a part of my family’s culture is being kind-hearted and giving; they also are very expressive and informal with greetings. When new children are born into the family, it is expected they grow up following this culture. Kind-hearted was one of the words my sister used to describe me in the 20 Statements Test. Those who come in contact with my whole family, may at first not know how to respond because they will be treated as if they are family even if we are just meeting for the first time. When we have family reunions, new people, such as friends or boyfriends of family members, are greeted with hugs, welcomed into homes, and loved just as much as everyone else
