Harriet Tubman once was a slave, slaves were considered properties and don’t have any rights. Harriet ran away but she decided to come back and help more slaves escape to freedom. Like slavery in the 1800s, child labor is occurring all around the world, they get paid a very low wage for working long hours and dangerous jobs. He traveled across the U.S to where they hire children to work in dangerous mills and took photos to prove to the world that this is totally wrong and unacceptable. In a article it states “Over the next decade and a half, Hine traveled to half of the continental United States, taking photos of everything from the Breaker boys in the mines of Pennsylvania — whose job was to separate coal from slate — to the children working in cotton mills in Georgia and Alabama.”This quote shows how Lewis Hine had the braveness to show up at these places and take pictures to get the world’s attention about the unfairness in child labor.
