Personal Narrative: My Experience In Elementary School

The elementary school I went to was public and the educational system was from kindergarten to sixth grade. From here, I met some of my, not necessarily closest, but long lasted friends. Three of whom I am quite close to today were of these three girls: Ariel, Jenny and Kimberly. I met these folks at different times. I met Ariel and Jenny in first grade. My mom and their moms met while picking us kids up. From then on, we were introduced to each other. Then drama took place. After second grade, Ariel and Jenny took a gate exam and passed. They both transferred to a more prestigious school called Rhodes Elementary School. From then on I felt what I felt back when I received glasses: loneliness. They never told me they were taking this exam and they just left me together. In a way, I felt our friendship was betrayed. However, this did not stop our friendship from continuing. As for Kimberly, I met her back in …show more content…
Mr. Li was my least favorite teacher. Unlike my teachers in the past, he did not care whether or not I played well. This was the start of when I started to think taking lessons from teachers limited my ability to play piano. I did not like to play piano much, but I did not stop. It just was not second nature that I wanted to play. The music we played was chosen by the teacher. Whether I enjoyed the music or not we were forced to play. He was strict, yelled at me, and I felt obligated to play. I could stomp my way to my room and cry and he would just sit there by the piano doing nothing at all. It was when my mom noticed he was not doing a thing that she was furious. He was paid to teach me, yet he did not really teach me a thing. Those years I consider was wasted. The next teacher I was taught was by Mrs. Lai. She did an exceptional job. I could talk to her as a friend and feel comfortable enough to voice my own

All throughout my school career, starting all the way in elementary school, school came very easy for me. I found that I rarely had to try hard at anything because it seems like I just knew it. With very little studying I was able to maintain high grades. In middle school I was put in advance math classes and it still wasn't a challenge but then in my junior year of high school things started to get difficult.…

It was the second week of school when we first met the string orchestra teacher; no one gave her a schedule. Her curly ginger hair, piercings, and her tattoos made her look kind of “intimidating”, but she was a very fun and laid back person once we got to know her. Throughout the year, she had taught us a lot like how to vibrato correctly, and we had played an ample amount of music that year as well. I worked hard to improve my music skills that year because we were going…

This year has been a crazy one. I came from a public school, not knowing anyone, so I terrified and didn't know what to expect. I struggled with trusting others, time management and battling multiple tasks at once. Luckily, I had a lot of practice throughout the year. For instance when we had to record a News Show for Mr.Mora's class, I was faced with all of these problems.…

I felt that in my first two years of English I had never really had a solid English teacher. In grade nine, I started with Mrs. Plat, who was a tough marker but a good-natured person. The next year I had Mrs.Lewis and she was a pretty likable person due to her humor, yet you could really tell that she didn’t want to be an English teacher and that her really love was in phys-ed. Then, for the next two years I had Mrs. JB, and it was like I had found an English teacher I felt a could talk to along with feeling her passion for teaching overall. (And i’m not just saying that because she’s marking this)…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

That Day in Fourth Grade “People come into our lives for a reason, bringing something you must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them and we help them in return. -Glinda” One of my best friends today, Teonna Frye, has influenced a lot of the choices that have made me into who I am today. I first met her as a “not-so-little,” brown-haired fourth grader. She was a giant that towered over all the kids in our grade.…

I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion. Even now I feel a pit in my stomach when I recall the way I felt during those times, regardless of the fact that almost all of them would easily roll off my back if they occurred today.…

Amber has been a friend of mine since we met in Fourth Grade. We were in the same grade, went to the same school, and shared many classes together. We both belong to the school band and both played the oboe. For several years in Junior High, we were official BFF's (Best Friends Forever), enjoying such typical adolescent girl activities as sleepovers, movies, (Yes, we both loved the Twilight series at the time) and incessant texting. We were similar in so many ways.…

They were the definition of best friends. The only flaw with this girl was that she had something against me and I didn’t know why. To be honest I still don't really know why we never used to get along, but that’s okay because she is one of the people who have changed the most in my life. The time that would describe our situation the best was about three years ago at a church camp we go to every year.…

The school year was almost over; we’d be in fifth grade soon. My friend Will and I, both good students with families very active in the PTA, were given an assignment we were happy with. We were excused from class to collect things needed to go into storage. We had to collect textbooks, extra supplies, and the over-head projectors in each classroom. We were given a push cart and the elevator key and sent on our way; the principal didn’t care how much we collected in a trip or how many trips it took us.…

Elementary School Elementary school was kindergarten through fourth grade and there is very little I remember. I don’t remember going home and reading to my grandparents or playing with anyone at recess or biting my nails when I was made to talk in front of my classmates, but I know I did. There are pictures of elementary school me with big smiles and bitten down nails. There’s this memory I have of writing my name in cursive and being told, rather harshly, that I was not to do that again because we were not being taught that.…

High school in the United States was a good experience for me in terms of education and how well I did in my classes compared with the bad grades I used to get in my home country, Peru. However, my experience as a high school student in Peru was more fun and memorable since I used to fool around a lot with teachers and classmates and never paid attention in classes. As a result, I would always get kicked out of class by teachers for distracting other students. So I did not have good grades. I have changed a lot since I came here and become more mature.…

In sixth grade, my literature teacher was very assertive and arrogant. This alone gave me a bad impression of the class which spread into my reading education. It was also the first experience I had of keeping a log of my reading, which has been the bane of my existance since I was first introduced to it. Additionally, the teacher recommended to me a number of books that I hated. All of these problems compounded to decrease my reading time.…
