Importance Of Fashion Essay

In my opinion, fashion is not important. You may disagree because humans have different opinions. Here is why I believe that fashion is not important.

A debater on debate.org states, "If we live our lives as a fashion show all the time when is it okay to show who YOU really are?” This means that fashion is all we think about, all we talk about, all we live for. For many, this is true and totally wrong for others. Whoever you are though, all of us have thought about what we will wear at least once. We have thought our outfit looks weird or that we will be made fun of if we are not wearing a name brand. People used to never think about that, they used to just think about making enough money to support themselves or their family. Now, all we

What you’re wearing shouldn’t determine if you get the job or not. It should be your skill level and how good you are at the occupation. Let's say you are having a really terrible day. For example let’s say your cat died that you have had it since you were little. You get this bad news in the car on the way to the interview and start crying. Let’s say you are wearing mascara and it runs down the nice (however itchy) clothes you were going to wear. You don’t want to have that at the interview so you put on your extra clothes in the trunk. You wear them all the time because they are so comfortable, even though a little bit casual. Your attire shouldn’t change the person's mind who is interviewing …show more content…
If you wear a suit, you will seem professional, even if your personality is the polar opposite. These assumptions can have many negative effects. If behind your back, people say your shirt is super ugly and you overhear them, you will feel bad and likely want to change. Being judged can make you feel many different emotions. An example could be anger. If someone makes a weird glare at your favorite shirt that your mom got you as a gift, you will probably feel angry. I know I would. I would think that nobody has the right to judge me for what I’m wearing. Nobody does have the right to do it, but everyone, even you, judge others by what they are wearing. Business insider tells us we only have 7 seconds to make a first impression. This could purely be on what others think about your clothing. That isn’t right at all. It should be on our personality. Next we will talk about opposing reasons of the

An interesting question asked by Thoreau is “Dress a scarecrow in your last shift, you standing shiftless by, who would not soonest salute the scarecrow?” People often have more respect for people who dress nicer, in a suit or dress, because it generally shows wealth and power. Should it matter whether or not someone is dressed up nicely? Clothes were originally used to protect our skin, not to show power.…

For women, fashion is a display of national character and patriotism and was used as a tool for resistance. At the beginning of the war, women were not seen as foot soldiers of the resistance. These German soldier they weren’t used to seeing women as peers on the battlefield. These women could inconspicuously transport information, leaflets, and anything the resistance needed, much easier than her male counterpart could. Normally women in movies are represented as heroines and motivators for the hero, like in Casablanca, Ilsa is often a motivator for many of Rick’s actions.…

I headed into the courtroom of Judge Thomas Marcelain to observe my first courtroom trial. The trial involved a 31-year-old man named, Daniel Bohanna, of Pataskala. Mr. Bohanna decided to represent himself in his trial for fear of misrepresentation. He was charged with rape, kidnapping, and felonious assault. I have seen footage on T.V. from famous trials and of course seen reenactments from Hollywood, but I have never been to one in person until now.…

In the article Appearances Are Destructive by. Mark Mathabane the author claims that public school children are more familiar to Nike, Calvin Klein, Adidas, Reebok, and Gucci than Zora Neale Hurston, Shakespeare, and Faulkner. Mathabane states that students are more focused on what’s on their bodies then what’s in their minds. According to the author school children are more focused on what they are wearing than in their minds. I agree with the author on how school children are more focused on what they are wearing than in their minds, because such as, in my years of high school.…

I have a wide style of fashion, and I could care less about peoples’ opinions. Fashion can be used to display a persons trait, for example if a person is wearing a “Gucci” jacket, that could indicate the person is wealthy or can afford expensive clothes. Being around college students allows me to express myself in the fashion norm with my peers. I have been in a situation where I was true to myself when the topic of “Yeezys” came up, which are Kanye West’s signature shoes. They are popular, trendy shoes which are really expensive.…

Book Review The Essential 55 One of the earlier rules I found vital for first grade students to follow is rule number two, “Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her at all times. If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person” (Clark, R., 2003, p.1). Teachers would find this rule to be an effective confidence booster when trying to communicate with one or more students.…

There is nothing that makes us more human than finding what makes us unique and clothing plays a huge role in making us who we are. For example, fashion magazines try to get us to dress a certain way by setting out trends for us to follow. Much can be said for the clothes one wears, but regrettably many make snap judgements of people by their appearance. Before getting to know someone, people tend to decipher and judge others personality in a brief glimpse. Either they are highly impressed or disgusted by their looks. If someone dresses more artistically, outdoorsy, or homeless, the clothes that correlate to the personalities of those subculture groups are typically underestimated. Free flowing, eclectic, and diverse are words frequently used to describe people who tend towards and artistic lifestyle.…

Walk into anyone’s closet, and you might just get a glimpse of their character or personality. What one wears can potentially define who they are. In most cases, this can be seen as true for employees such as businessmen in suits and ties, or construction workers in baggy jeans and t-shirts. Clothing is something that has become a necessity overtime. It not only defines people, but also shows the evolution of history.…
