Through evidence based dentistry, dental practitioners are able to assess a problem, appraise the evidence collected thoroughly to come up with the most effective treatment which is always up to date with current methods, parallel to the ongoing advancement of technology. The ability to disseminate information is pivotal in enhancing communication skills to ensure that the patient would be more receptive to the prescribed treatment, which matches the patient’s needs and preferences. In one way or another, evidence based dentistry helps to broaden one’s knowledge beyond textbooks through extensive researching and this enable a dentist to be more knowledgeable to come up with their own clinical judgement.
