I primarily worked on the hydraulic systems, airframe, and landing gear. Working on these aircraft components involves using certain equipment, to which you need certain qualifications to use. An example would be the nitrogen cart, used for inflating the tires on the landing gear. In order to get your qualification(s) you need to demonstrate the proper steps to use the desired equipment and get each step signed off by a qualified operator. People would see this as an opportunity to pass off their tasks to another individual, giving them a lighter workload. With less work as motivation, they would just sign off without verifying their knowledge for the equipment and quickly have them qualified. The problem here is that if this behavior isn’t immediately counteracted, you will eventually end up with a flight line full of qualified workers lacking the proper knowledge actually to operate the heavy equipment, this can lead to dangerous conditions. There were also mentors that would favor their protégés and expedite the qualification process for this person to make themselves look good and boost their evaluation. This corrupt display of actions will cause the pupil or other workers to believe this is the proper way to do things and will pass the unethical behavior on to the next trainee and so on. Fast-tracking on critical training can also make the workers within the organization believe that the policies and guidelines are not set in stone, leading to rebellious actions toward company procedures. Another issue When signing your signature on the qualification paper you are conforming that this person has the proper knowledge and abilities to be qualified for the task, therefore putting you responsible for any further problems that may arise due to lack of knowledge because of bypassing important training. I feel that this is a perfect example when it comes to ethical

Without a protocol in place to continue monitoring new employees once they are left on their own, any information forgot or not learned will go unnoticed and could become habit. If team leaders don’t notice it until it is a bad habit, then it will be harder to correct. According to Services Marketing: An Interactive Approach, cross-training is important because it makes employees more versatile (Fisk, et. al, p. 81). The goals are the antecedent while praising and/or re-directing is the consequence that shapes future behaviors. They work perfectly in influencing employees to behave in a way that is productive. I also found interesting the idea that Teresa Lee was seen as complaining by the manager because she did not know what she desired the problem to actually be like. I feel that having a problem and complaining are similar. People complain because things are not going the way they want them to go, which is the definition of what a problem is by the manager’s standards.…

Silvertail Airlines’ attempt to increase job difficulty and removing benefits like travel concession and the kind of hotels the crews are staying, as well as having lesser crews onboard and arranging for more long-haul flights are actions taken to dismiss the older employees. According to Sam and Bobbi’s conversation, younger crews are more capable to deal with lesser benefits and more challenging working conditions unlike the existing crews. However, they failed to put into consideration that the younger employees may have joined the industry due to their understanding from the past job descriptions. Once the younger employees enter the industry and such measures are implemented, they will feel that it is unfair to remove their benefits as well just for the equity of all employees. As the restructure is to match the new image of the airline, they are not the ones that does not match the image and needs to be…
