I primarily worked on the hydraulic systems, airframe, and landing gear. Working on these aircraft components involves using certain equipment, to which you need certain qualifications to use. An example would be the nitrogen cart, used for inflating the tires on the landing gear. In order to get your qualification(s) you need to demonstrate the proper steps to use the desired equipment and get each step signed off by a qualified operator. People would see this as an opportunity to pass off their tasks to another individual, giving them a lighter workload. With less work as motivation, they would just sign off without verifying their knowledge for the equipment and quickly have them qualified. The problem here is that if this behavior isn’t immediately counteracted, you will eventually end up with a flight line full of qualified workers lacking the proper knowledge actually to operate the heavy equipment, this can lead to dangerous conditions. I feel that this is a perfect example when it comes to ethical
