Importance Of Ethical Standards In Conducting Research
When conducting a research, the researcher has to keep an open mind and not let his or her opinion cloud their judgment. Being bias in when conducting research can cause to a misleading conclusion. The researcher has to have an open mind and not let their opinions affect the research. Some researchers don’t even realize that their biased opinions are intervening with the end result of their research. Therefore, objectivity is a very important ethical standard when conducting research.
Confidentiality is another important f ethical standard researchers should follow. Researchers need to make sure they have the approval of the subjects when doing their research. They need to know when to share information and when to not disclose them. For example, having a subject that is also a patient. Disclosing the subject medical condition is considered unethical unless the patient approves the disclosure.
