Personal Narrative: My Middle School My Ethical Foundation

When I first became aware of my ethical foundation was when I was only 3 years of age. I knew that there was a set of rules and if those rules were not followed around the house there would be consequences. My mother was always the one who set the rules and she made sure that my brother and I had an idea of how to act and behave. For example, have you ever gone to the grocery store and you see a kid crying and throwing a tantrum because they are not getting that new toy or that candy they wanted? Well, I was never one of those kids my mother thought us that if she said no because that was no money or for whatever reason being then that was the end of discussion. A new ethical figure started to play a role in my life. Football was and is something I have always loved and for the first time I was going to be able to play in a team. Once a member of the team my coaches showed me that if I wanted a position I had to work of it. After that day I became a very competitive person I didn’t like to lose and I always wanted to be the best one at whatever I was doing. Wining was the only thing that mattered and that season we went undefeated and won the championship. This mentality carried on with me and all my teammates. We didn’t know what losing was and we wanted to keep it that way. Besides my coaches new mentality of wining my friends now played a bigger roll on how I acted. During middle you start thinking that you are a grown up and started acting up because you think you know everything. Some of my friends from elementary carried on to middle school with me and now it was more about being cool rather than playing in the playground and not caring what anybody thought. My best friend at the time was Tino and he has always been a class clown. If Tino and I had class together we would be the class clowns of the class and that made me feels good because people would laugh at what we were saying and afterwards people wanted to hang out with us. Girls also started play a factor back in elementary girls didn’t not matter and you could care less if they liked you or not but in seventh and eighth grade you wanted the girls to like you. My mom always told me to be gentlemen with all girls she showed me that you always open the door for them let them go first and treat them all with respect. I put what my mom had thought me into place and now not only did I have guy friends but girl friends as well. People around you can be very influential and convince you to do thing you don’t even agree on and most of those actions that they involve you in can lead to trouble to end
