During some point in this lifetime, we all have experienced mistakes. Therefore, no one is exempted. In health care, mistakes can be the consequence of illness or injury or even mortality. The organizations in health care challenged with the pressure to improve the quality of care, decrease utilization, and minimizing costs. Therefore, the physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers must attempt to increase the efficiency and quality of patient care. However, these goals can be attainable while practicing quality improvement programs and utilizing a performance management system that potentially useful. For enhancement in an employee performance and growth, the organization has to create an excellent system for employee performance appraisal (Crabtree, 1993). The employer would evaluate and distinguish the area that needs improvement. Acknowledging that there is a problem and then identifying the problem is the first steps toward measuring employee accountability. Once the system of measurement is established, obtain realistic goals for the employees to accomplish. The team should develop an awareness of the job they perform essential to the profitability of the practice. However, it is critical that the results discussed with employees and the significance of a job accomplished. Whenever managers and the worker have a bond it can help to establish success in the appraisal process (Crabtree, 1993). Also, rewarding some incentive is appropriate for goals achieved. However, the employee level of responsibility can determine how accountability measured. Nevertheless, if employees continue to lack accountability and perform poorly on performances, it can affect them in many ways. In an organization, each person is solely responsible for their behavior by seeking ownership of their actions. Obviously, the organization is going in the right direction and running efficiently if employees held liable for their actions. Also, people respect and recognize the autonomy of others and driven, and becoming an influential person by choice and not force (International Matrix Management Institute, 2016). If accountability used in a positive manner, it could influence others to become an influential person.
