The test revealed that I scored a 66 on my self-awareness. Self-awareness is how I react to situations and how well I manage my emotions. I find the scoring relatable. I tend to focus on how others react to their emotions rather than my own. Growing up, I was that friend that someone to go to just to talk. I helped give advice or just to listen. While being in sessions with client, or clients, I would be able to pick up on emotions or reactions on certain topics. Also, being able to see if a topic makes them uncomfortable.Being able to notice these emotions, will help to build trust and a relationship with my clients. On a personal competence, being able to notice and perceive my emotions can help with outbursts while in sessions with my clients. If I was having a “bad day,” I would have to perform some self care to get my emotions in check, so I am able to perform my job professionally. It would also be helpful with my colleagues. Whether it's conversation or in a meeting.
Assets of Emotional Intelligence in Interpersonal Relationships Now outside from work, using my emotional intelligence in my interpersonal relationships could help me read my family. Hopefully someday, I will get married and have a few kids. Using my emotional intelligence with my kids to perceive their emotions if they are upset or happy. I know from my childhood, working with your kids with homework can be stressful sometimes. By being educated in me emotional intelligence, I would be able control my emotions when my kids are not listening to me. Same with my husband, in an argument, I can watch my language and tone of voice to have a controlled disagreement.
