One thing i think many can agree on is the fact that college is hard. Yes, college is hard, is this an excuse to fail? No, it is certainly not. I can say that being more prepared for the major differences between high school and college would have certainly been helpful, and may have kept me from failing. One major difference between college and highschool is the type of work given. I learned in college that papers are 99% of assignments, for the majority of class types. During highschool i wrote less papers than i can count on both my hands, while in college there may be more than that many in a week that are due. I do believe that if I had been more prepared for the amount of papers that were going to be required in college, it may have made a difference in my success. I personally feel as though high schools should have had us writing papers far more often than they are. I can start by saying that my writing skills are not the best, i have always loved the grammar and rules of english, but getting my thoughts out on paper and making them cohesive has always been a problem for me. I have had many discussions with people my age about how much we were not prepared for the major differences between high school and college. Myself and others have stated that our success may have been better if during high school we had written papers far more frequently,
