Diverse Students
Meeting the needs of a variety of students can be extremely difficult; the reality is, however, that it is an inevitable hurdle that all teachers must overcome. The main strategies that I used to ensure students’ needs were being met include explicitly teaching vocabulary, using multiple forms of assessment, extensive group work, planning for student accommodations on testing and giving students choice in their projects. By integrating a lot of discussion during class, then asking the students to put to work their understanding in an artistic or written form, students get the chance to express themselves in a variety of ways. Through understanding that students communicate differently, then giving them access to varied communication

It affects how we connect, play, socialize and, most importantly, learn. The “real world” is becoming increasingly technology-dependent; therefore being technologically literate is essential to becoming a successful, contributing member of society. It only makes sense to integrate technology into the classroom to give students the opportunity to gain a wide variety of knowledge and skills necessary to flourish in school and in life. Exposing students to the range of technology available – both basic uses like showing videos or having them conduct research online and more creative ones, like having them produce their own newscasts, films, or songs or setting up a pen pal exchange with a sister class across the country or the globe – gives them the chance to explore new approaches to learning and also potential career paths for the future. In this way, it is an excellent tool to diversify teaching, allowing teachers to address multiple learning styles and present information in a variety of formats. Another reason technology is important in the classroom is that it helps to engage students in what might otherwise be boring or dry content. Today’s students are simply drawn to technology, and by taking advantage of that instructors are able to provide them the opportunity to get much more individualized instruction and support in specific areas of weakness through various computer programs or …show more content…
One way to do this is through targeted and clear assessments aimed at gauging how students are meeting objectives set for the lesson, unit, or year. Successful assessments are not just for the teacher, they are extremely meaningful for the student because it allows them to get feedback on their work and understanding, which can be done in many different ways. Formative assessments in my unit are abundant due to the high number of discussions, both whole class and small group. This gives me the chance to gauge students’ understanding in real time and clear up confusions before the inaccurate information has time to take root in the students’ minds. I also incorporate exit tickets and short quizzes in multiple lessons with questions that mirror or strongly connect to the objectives for the lesson. The anticipatory sets in many of the lessons are also very beneficial since they can indicate where the class stands on their current understanding and better inform how I will approach the topic and what my focus will be. In my Social Studies lesson plan, if students already have a solid understanding of certain types of propaganda (like emotional appeals or glittering generalities), I would spend less time explaining those and more on aspects that they are unfamiliar with or unsure of. I incorporated summative assessments at the end of each lesson. Students

Technology in the Classroom: Making Strides with Technology In favor of the use of technology in the classroom, several matters are poignant. For students who are already familiar with technology, the use of this type of educational device is a logical extension of their daily processes. Technology opens doors for students by allowing them to access data and receive answers to practically any question that may arise. It also has the opportunity to cater to a wide array of learning styles such as reading, hearing, and interactive lessons for a more personal learning experience. Technology also provides scope for students to engage in a more diverse educational setting by interacting with students from different cultures from their own when reviewing the same or similar content or concepts.…

Another benefit to discussion is it allows for students to actively participate in the classroom. Which I believe is essential to students learning. The problem with discussion is, not every student may feel comfortable presenting their thoughts or ideas to the class as a whole. I think that is why it would be important to incorporate other forms of discussion such as, online or smaller groups, where students may have more…

Taking a look at the pros, technology, if available, can provide teachers with the necessary tools to offer their students a distinctive learning possibility, encouraging the problem solving and creative thinking abilities to be heightened. Another bonus of integrating technology is motivation. Motivating students to obtain a higher quality of academic success is a goal educators try to achieve, along with a higher rate of attendance in class. The greater assets of utilizing technology to differentiate instruction is the ability to extend enhanced learning opportunities to diverse learning abilities of all students who advance academically through different learning styles (Gunter & Gunter, 2014, chapter 5) The cons of utilizing technology to differentiate instruction begin with the availability of classroom technology. The access to the right form of technology is crucial when seeking academic success while introducing a specific assignment that is being offered with aid of technology.…

Technology is changing the way that the students learn and how they interact with others in the classroom and the world. The world’s economy is changing so it is very important for the students to morph into a new way of using technology and shift in theory according to the Common Core curriculum, “It is part of the paradigm shift to an inquiry style of learning and to engaging students in learning in ways that help them make sense of knowledge” (Debraski 35). The importance of technology has been making its way to the nation’s schools to learn more about the digital age. Technology allows the students not to rely on the teacher to give the answer to questions but it to allow the student to learn their own answer to the question. This new learning style is affected because the students are now searching for the answer instead of relying on the teacher who was the specialist in content by learning, being able to find relevant information, and to make sure the information is validated.…

According to researchers, "Educational technology helps close learning gaps, while we can 't always predict educational outcomes, educational technology allows us to use data to identify students that need interventions in certain subjects. This is especially important because data allows information to be analyzed and easily communicated back to teachers, parents, and other parties involved quickly. The sooner they can take steps to correct these issues, keeps students within the educational timeframe" (Embracing technology to Achieve Results). Integrating technology in the classroom has helped students become their own teachers. Students have the different tools to find the answers and they can also implement their teachings anywhere it 's needed.…

Technology can be looked at positively because it helps students learn in different ways, research things at any moment, and will benefit students in the future by associating themselves with it. On the other hand, technology can be manipulated in negative ways. Students may find themselves distracted by what is happening on their computer screens rather than what the teacher is teaching. Technology in the classroom may also open up many new windows for students to cyberbully or watch inappropriate things. I believe that technology, with moderation, should be integrated into high school classrooms everywhere.…

The traditional lectures, worked-out examples, and assigned homework material were prominent. However, improvements were suggested and meant to give students a chance to become more involved with their field of interest. Lectures should not only be taught, but rather include an aspect of active learning that grabs a student’s attention. Labs should not be a weekly routine, but rather a chance to apply the experiment to real-world situations. Computer engineering plays a very important role in the world of technology, thus it is important that students are given a theme that can be applied to the outside world, allowing for problem-based learning and application.…
