Sadly, it is true that the minorities never really get a chance to win elections in this form of government. However, they do get other equal rights such as education, religious freedom, property and so on. Well, first of all the fact that the minorities have low chances to win an elected position does not mean that the minorities do not have the right to vote. They are free to vote whomsoever they fancy but the final result is the will of the whole nation rather than of a particular community/race. Secondly, the state is responsible to ensure all human rights to every citizen of the country but it just can’t put governmental policies in favor of a small group of people. It is unfair that the minorities get little attention in governmental policies but it would be worst if the majorities go unheard for the sake of people who already occupy a marginal population of the country. Thirdly, which other form of government can balance the involvement of minorities and majorities in the government? Dictatorship? Dictatorship is absolute rule in which both of the majorities and minorities have no rights whatsoever to have a say in the government. Not only do the people have zero power to interfere in the governing body, but they sometimes are persecuted due to their beliefs, race, language and religion.
