Firstly, the action does not involve any violence or force. The action should be done by peace, and people do it by their own will, not forced by anyone or any groups. Secondly, it should not violate anyone’s human rights and freedom. Lastly, the action should be in accordance with ethics and my conscience. I always decide something based on what my heart tells me to do, and I also always use my heart as my guidance to decide the righteousness of an action. That is why I don’t believe that majority opinion is always the right decision. I agree with what Leo Tolstoy says in his autobiography, “Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it”. I believe that righteousness of an action is not decided by the amount of people who support it. That is also one of the reason why I don’t really agree with the concept of voting. In Indonesia, there is actually a concept to establish an open forum and discussion before making a decision, rather than use voting. Sometimes, in order to do something that I believe is right, I have to go against the rules. For example, whenever I see a handicapped beggar, I still give them some money although it is against the law. I do it because although the government forbid us to give them money, they can’t provide enough jobs for the disabled people. For me, this law is wrong and unfair, so I still give them money so they can live a proper life. Once, I got reprimanded by a lady because I give some money to a blind beggar on the side of the street nar my house. She told me that by giving him money, I will only make him lazier. She also told me that I can get caught by police if they saw me do that. But I just simply told her that I don’t care what other people said, as long as my heart told me that what I do is right, I will keep doing that over and over again, even if I got in trouble for it
