6 Culture plays a significant part in our day to day life. Communicating with different culturals can be a challenging. People communicate several ways between cultures. One aspect of communication style is the type of language used. For examples words and phrases are used in different ways. Misunderstanding can be quite common in the same culture, but it is not the same when it comes to different culture backgrounds. They normally face communication barriers. The authors of “Communicating Across Cultures” state many points on how to communicate across different cultures and the barriers people face.(Kinsey, 2011)

Defferent cultures have different customs. Living in multicultural world we need to able to accept cultural differences. I need to get more involved with different cultural groups, learn and understand their customs. Handle cultural surprises. At times, no matter how much you prepare yourself, there always be some surprises. Same goes to cross cultural. For example, speaking. in some cross culture, speaking loudly considered as normal or easier for them to understand. Where in my upbringing we need to speak politely and softly, so we are being rude. This is something I need to understand, so I will find myself belong. Lastly is flexible. Taking my own cross culture and background, I need to be more flexible towards others. This way I won 't judge people or their ways. At times I do tend to see things differently compare to others. All these should help improve my own cross culture …show more content…
They are eye contact, speaking slowly and clearly and body language. Making more and regular eye contact with the audience will get their attention and interest this is something I need to improve more. I do tend to find it hard and need more practice. I need to focus on the audience more to get the message across. This has also helped by speaking slowly and clearly. I need to get my message across steadily and clearly. When the pressure builds I tend to panic and start speaking very fast. This is a key area where I need more attention. I need to make sure to communicate in a correct pace to get the audience more engaged. The third thing I need more improvement is body language and hand positions. By using correct body language and hand position will improve my presentation. I tend to find myself being very stiff and carry on speaking with a pause. I think with correct movement and hand gestures can get the audience engaged more greatly. This will make my presentation more effective and interesting. So the focus of audience are there.
