Critical thinking is an evaluative form of thinking. The result of the evaluation (critical thinking) can range from positive to negative, from acceptance to rejection or anything in-between. It is a reasonable and reflective thinking that aids individual to make decisions and judgments for problem-solving. It allows individuals to have an inward domain of their own consciousness with a comprehensive state of liberty of thought and feeling. As students, critical thinking allows growth in personal, academic and professional dimensions.

For example, in the 1st Personal Reflection, I had a response to a question that was thought critically (a little). I am honest with myself; I acknowledge what I don’t know, recognize my limitations, and am watchful of my own errors. When arriving at the University of Texas at Austin, I was honest to myself by saying “I know this school is going to be a challenge for me especially since I come from a small town.” I acknowledged what I didn 't know by learning from my mistakes when working problems with my professors during their office hours. I recognize my limitations by not knowing Spanish too well even though I 'm Hispanic. I am watchful of my own errors by double checking my homework because I want to make sure I 'm right. As I looked back on that 1st response, I realized that I actually learn about many ideas of arriving at UT instead of one. The ideas, therefore, had to be analyzed systematically with a clear mind, hence active thinking was
