Critical thinking in general has never been one of one of my strong suits, but I believe that out of the 7 characteristics provided by Ruggiero the one that represents my greatest strength is that I tend to think before acting. I was taught early on that thinking before doing will, one help in success and two lead you on a better path in life. Acting impulsively can be very pleasing and come with an adrenaline rush, but in the end did you really make the right choice for yourself. My father is a perfect model for someone who acts without thinking, yes he has had much success in his life, but due to his impulsive behavior there has been many failures to follow those acts that have ended in success. In multiple situations in my life I have had…

Informative post Brigid, I think this line in your post "a company can overlap the marketing campaign to not only appeal to a consumer who is materialistic but also to the consumer who has the need of uniqueness trait" encompases something that I think is quite important and could be one of the central reasons why businesses group individuals and carry out consnumer researches with consumers who dont have identical personalities. I think business also do this for the sake of exposure and reduce the number of segments they have to create. To see how far they can go, and to determing if they can captivate the interests of clinets who previously had no interest for a certain product. When they become exposed to that new product, they…

I firmly believe that the term "critical thinking" is in fact far less related to strict guidelines of what is or is not critical thinking, but rather the ability to step back from any given practice, problem - anything really - and reexamine it anew. When companies are asking for people who have critical thinking skills it's not that they are asking for employees to sit down, take a test where they "critically think" about different scenarios, and then describe the "right" answer - and I believe that is what most students believe they are being asked to do - but rather that the company is asking you to sit down and examine those scenarios to see what "weird" ideas you can come up with. Because being weird is how you innovate, and as economies become more competitive than at any point in human history companies have to be innovating constantly in order to stay alive.…
