A sport first played in southern england during the 16th century. It is a sport mostly played out of the United States and in other foreign countries. But even it is extremely popular with over 120 millions players participating. The game is set up similar to baseball in the fact that a bat and ball is used to be hit. Also that cricket uses the same system of innings as does baseball. Surprising cricket did make an appearance during the olympics but was never seen again after. Cricket continues to be a ever growing sport in other countries.
Cricket is usually played on a large oval-shaped field. In the center there is a rectangular area which is known as the pitch. Boundary lines are posted all along the outside of the field. Inside the pitch

The main objective is to score points by running from one point to another before the play is ended. There are two team that make up a cricket game and each have 11 players. At any given time the fielding team has eleven players on the field while the batting team has two. To uphold the standard rules of the game two empires monitor over. Umpires responsibilities include making decisions and notifying the scores of the decision.
The point system in Cricket can be complex and there is usually multiple ways to score. The main way includes the batter hitting a ball into the fields boundaries on the ground which will result in four points. The other way includes a batter hitting the ball in the air over the boundaries which results in six points. Players can also score points each time batsmens switch places successfully.
Before the actual game is cricket can begin each player must have certain equipment to properly play the game. This includes a cricket bat which is usually made of willow wood on one side while the other is bulged. A player should hit the ball on the flat side for the best results. Next a cricket ball is necessary which is similar in size and build to a baseball. But the stitching is different and is comparable to those of a tennis ball. Usually a cricket ball is red with white stitching. The other requirements is a uniform that consists of a long or short sleeve shirt, pants and shoes.
