Creativity In Classroom

Educators everywhere have diverse views of the education system as a whole. The teacher I interviewed gave me insight on her views as an educator in today’s time. Mrs. Ezell, a current preschool teacher at the Woodland pre-k, discussed the importance of creativity in the classroom. She also discussed different learning styles and the need for differentiation. Her primary purpose as a teacher is to benefit each child in the classroom.
Creativity goes beyond painting and drawing pictures; it benefits each student in a remarkable way. Creativity allows the student to express his or herself without any rejection or criticism. Ezell’s point of view on the need for integration and incorporation of study in the education system. She told me that when her mother was a teacher, there were no words such as these used in the education system. Today, the diversity of learning is crucial for the students in the classroom. When her mother was teaching, the effectiveness of how well each child was being taught was low. She went on to say, by her mother’s fifth year of teaching she was introduced to the topic of integration. At first her mother was confused and worried about how she was going to accomplish the task on a daily basis because of the different levels each student was on. “At the time, she said there was a huge gap in performance levels of the students and she was frightened about how to provide for all of them.,” said Mrs.Ezell. she stated that it is still a huge struggle today but the need for these aspects are enormous. Ezell was so helpful in allowing me to see a different view. Mrs. Ezell told me that is it best to not take things too personally. She said, “Just love the students and be passionate about what you do. Always look for the best in each child and bring it out the best ways you can, the first year will be the hardest but do not give up and be patient because an excellent teacher takes time to create.” Her viewpoint will be a significant way to promote learning for students as well as the educator. Always knowing how to connect with each student is difficult and takes time, being patient is the best key. As I listened to Mrs. Ezell’s point of view on the need for differentiation and integration, I learned so much about how much thought goes into preparing lessons. After listening I thought about it and realized that teaching to one level of students in the classroom is nonexistent, or in my opinion it should be nonexistent.
