Introduction
We, team Alpha knows the importance of teamwork, and without it neither team member would have experienced a successful outcome. However, as we reflect on the progress thus far, we both realize that to sustain what we have built, we must create a plan of action for continuous improvement. Creating a corrective action plan will provide us with a step-by-step approach to strengthen our team, as we make this a vital part of our team culture (Johnston, 2016). We examined the overall design of our team; the climate we use to build and sustain our interpersonal connectedness; implemented resources; and the norms and procedures we have developed. We realize that that is continuous improvements needed in all areas. …show more content…
We as a team have taken note of the current behaviors that guide our team, and while most of them are positive, we realize that there’s always room for improvements. Our Corrective action plan will help us to bridge the gap between what we are currently doing to what we should be doing (Johnston, 2016).
We understand that continuous improvements are on going events, and making small improvements over a period of time can lead to success. However, it is vital that all team members are committed and are expected to contribute by engaging in the steps outlined in the action plan (Daft, 2012).

Design While a leadership structure was identified by the team, a very different structure was ultimately employed. While this small two person team moved forward and adapted, the failure to actually define the leadership role could have led to disharmony in a larger group or with two less mature team members. Resources The team never formalized and personalized a communication plan. Initially, one of the two-team members called for a meeting as he or she deemed it necessary. The method of communication was left to the person asking for the meeting. Later, the team fell into a routine, which became an unspoken norm. In a larger group or one with less responsible team members, this loose arrangement could lead to missed deadlines and miscommunication. We will have to discuss this section, I can’t (at the moment) come up with any corrective actions for tis block. ☹
Norms and Procedures The team never formalized its communication norms. While this did not effect this two person team, it clearly could have led a larger or different team astray as no one formally knew when or how or what was to be communicated. Conduct a brainstorming meeting to discuss and establish guidelines & team norms (Heathfield, 2016).
