Growing up in a catholic family I always felt connected with God. I made the commitment at a young age to attend church every Sunday and to complete my Holy Communion and Confirmation. Accomplishing those achievements made me closer to my faith and helped me find out what I truly believe in. Even today I use my catholic identity to help me accomplish my goals. I have been able to accomplish many goals I set forth for myself through believing in God and myself. It’s important to be able to believe in myself when accomplishing my goals but it is equally as important to respect what the world has to offer. I plan in my lifetime to become a community advocate and to make a difference in my community. My parents taught my at a young age that getting involved in your community can make a difference in the world. Almost every weekend I would be volunteering at the Federation for the Homeless, helping out at organizations in need, and planting flowers around my local community. I never felt forced to do community service, it was just my passion to help others in need or to better my community. I recently took on a new community service project that I developed. It’s a scholarship fund for Academy of Finance students at the local high school I graduated from. Even though I am not a student at my high school anymore I still plan to be involved in this project. Just the other day I went to my high school to talk to the students who will be helping to make the scholarship fund successful again. During winter break I will work with the students so they can help make a difference in the community. Community service has been apart of my life for a long time and I plan to use my core value of service throughout my lifetime to accomplishment other goals I have for my surrounding
