We also used Facebook chat and group meetings, to keep the lines of communication open. This helped develop and maintain a strong working relationship, where people felt comfortable asking questions and giving advice. Our group had a lot of great ideas and our early planning helped bring everyone’s sections together effortlessly. This meant we only had to tweak, instead of drastically change sections in order for them to flow. As there was more than one group member majoring in advertising, marketing or graphic design, we designated roles to cover all promotional areas. I found, however, that it was very rewarding because I feel Creatives often underappreciate the business side of advertising. Learning both sides of advertising can give you valuable insight into the likelihood of your ideas being successful. Whereas learning only one can make you doubt your work, or the acceptance of it by others in your field. I am naturally the kind of person who needs to feel in control and this project has taught me a great deal about myself. Proper knowledge of a subject gives you confidence and the ability to think outside the box. Even though I am now strictly a humanities student, I feel I can use what I have learnt from my business units, as a competitive edge in my future field. Something that may not have been realised if not for this
