¬ Plus o The kids were really engaged in the discussion. I thought they appreciated being asked those questions. Many of them really took the time to think before answering the questions. o Most of them think that school is not important because they see that some people in their community are successful without going to school. o When we broke up into to two different groups, the group I was with, most of them did not like their Science teacher because they feel like the teacher is not patience, they talked about how the teacher does not care if they are doing going in class or not. The majority of them have been in circle before so they already knew about the talking piece and circle in generally so, that gave us extra time to play the game. o When asked to reflect on the game, they expressed how they liked the game, and they thought it was base on team work and communication. o The group Emily and I had the kids really reflected on the questions. o First, all of them agree that the conflict at school is impacted their leaning because they are taking repetitive class and they are not learning. This has made them be confuse in school, and no structure. o One kid in particular discussed that its been hard for him to remember the materials because every week he is assigned into a different class. o Another kid said that some of his teachers don’t care about them. o For the most part they are worrying about getting a new schedule every week, and they are concern when this issue will be fix. o Some of the changes they wanted to happen in school is first for the Principal to fix the schedule. Bringing more staffs, get counselors, making the school more appealing and a pace where they want to come everyday. Teachers need to work harder and make sure kids are learning. Most of them feel like the science teacher needs to leave because she is rude and has no
