WRONG !!!
The choices you make as a teenager greatly influence your ability to choose in your future.
Your first choice is to decide which element in your brain will make that choice, emotion or your Intellect. Apparently for teenagers this is not an easy thing to do because, guess what, – our Brains are still developing – we do not yet have the brain capacity to easily make a reasoned choice.
It is relative new Science which has discovered this information about the teenage Brain.
In an article in Nat Geo titled Teenage Brains we are informed that

(e.g., disagreeing with a friend)
C Create constructive alternatives. (e.g., 1) never talk to friend again, 2) yell at friend, 3) talk about problem with friend)
E Evaluate the alternatives. (e.g.,1) lose the friendship, more free time; 2. disagreement gets worse, you win disagreement, but friend’s feelings may be hurt (or vice versa); 3) you and your friend gain a better understanding of each other – may lead to a better friendship, may not).
D Decide on the best alternative to do. (e.g., alternative 3 – has best chance of saving and possibly strengthening friendship (aces.edu/teens/mod 7)
Rules set by parents and family, by the legal system, school and church are other guidelines we can follow to help make constructive rather than destructive choices.
We also need to aware of what hinders our ability to make intelligent choices. Although not necessarily considered unhealthy, our brains are bombarded daily of garbage information. We live in the high speed era and location were information and media infiltrate our lives constantly throughout the day.
