Even more so, the trend could deter class participation by students "who wouldn't want to speak up for fear of being mocked, if they felt their answers would be put up on the Internet," Mr. Strom, the general counsel for the American Federation of Teachers says. "The whole environment would be affected in a very significant way." (de Vise). Many students would be intimidated in their classroom environment from not knowing where cell phones might be watching. Cell phones hold a variety of possibilities which should be closed to students during class. Cameras on cell phones can be used against a student to damage their reputation or just humiliate them on the internet or in public (Ban). This not only hurts the confidence of the student being teased, but also hurts the bully because they are focusing more on harassing than listening to the teacher. Cell phones are a high concerning safety issue exponentially increasing in today’s life.When one picks up a cellphone, they take the risk of gaining medical problems such as loss of hearing and brain disorders (de Vise). The cell phone itself directly affects a person negatively, and alters the way one would think and learn at school because it changes their physical ability. Cell phones also indirectly harm a person’s physical state and are an issue of safety when it come to being bullied through digital messages, uneasily detected. (deVise). A bully has very easy access to send violent threats to it’s victim during school, which then can take followup physical actions. Students who carry cellphones to class are unsustainable to the lessons being taught because they become highly distracted by them and lose focus. Cell phones additionally add negative vibes to classrooms because they create discomfort with the cameras they contain, while lowering the confidence of many individuals. Cell phones also offer negative side effects when being used during class to cheat on serious tests or exams. Furthermore, cell phones result in unwanted side effects and bullies during school, which can cause someone a fatally.
