Either people say it draws away attention or it’s a distraction to other people. The reason why I think it’s a good idea to let kids have phones in school is because they need it for emergency in school and after or on your way to school. Sometimes in some schools they let you listen to music or play on free time at lunch. But most kids are late for class because they were playing on their phone so what I am saying…

I believe that students should be allowed to have a cellphone fat certain times of the day for their own personal use. I feel if kids had their phones with them at school it could help them stay safe in multiple situations and could help them communicate with their family if they don't have an other methods to do so. In certain situations having a phone nearby for your use could be quite useful, in situations like lockdowns and such because of a hurricane, earthquake, etc. you could use the phone to communicate with your parents and inform them about what happened and tell them that you're okay and you could also use it to call for help in case of an emergency.…

Basically having phones is like having a mobile computer that can fit right into your pocket and it gives us the ability to find the right stuff for maybe research we are doing in a class, but also gives us the ability to look up videos on stuff we don't understand. I use my phone during my free time at school getting tutored in math because my school doesn't provide a tutor doing the school day so I use my phone for an educational purpose. I'm not the only kid who does this too because we are trying to start this thing at school where we get a group of us students to help the kids who aren't…

Phones in school are both helpful and a distraction. They are helpful because it makes it easier for a parents to get ahold of a student faster then if they call the school and tell them, then they have to go find the student and give them that information. But they can also be a distraction because students will be on their phones more then paying attention in class and during their work when they need too. “Phones in school can prove to be a distraction and if things are said or sent to others on school grounds, it could create problems for the school and it's image.” Said Lauren Roberts 11th grader from Columbus Catholic.…

I think phones should be allowed in school, we may not have to be on them all the time but we should at least be able to have them incase we need to call someone or if we have free time in a class we could play games, listen to music, or use google, dictionary.com, and an example of is our history book is online and at school sometimes there’s not enough chromebooks or Ipads. Mobile devices are kind of like a drug that children, teens, and young adults can’t seem to put down and that’s not always a good thing. The reason this isn’t always a good thing is because some kids don’t go outside and play, hang out with friends or know how the real world works, most kids would rather play video games and be in a virtual world. The kids that are so addicted to electronics end up nowhere because they don’t know how to deal with real people in life. In article #1 it says “ Lets turn this into a learning device and maybe eventually teens will see it more than just a device for entertainment.”…

Kids are always asking to get on there phone for school resources, and then are found on social media, which leads to cyberbullying, and a non-learning environment. Teacher Joni Siani explains it this way: “You’ll get kids saying, i’ll look something up for english, and while i’m here let me quickly check my instagram or twitter feed ( which most students tend to do).” Sure phones can be used for an english assignment, or just to use for research in school, but we can prevent this from happening by putting away phones, or even blocking websites. Therefore if phones are taken away during school hours, then this will help prevent less cyberbullying, and a better learning learning…

Imagine there has been a school lockdown, and the suspect cut all the landlines so he thought no one would be able to call the police. However, the suspect was caught much faster than he thought he would be. This last scene would not have been possible a few years ago, such as the year 2000, because cell phones were not very popular in schools back then. When it comes to cell phones at school, some people say they should be banned. Others say they are very useful in schools.…
