Castles have been vital to history because they project power. Castles were vitally important in the way history was written, from tThe Middle Ages to World War II, castles have affected the way battles and other altercations have been decided. Castles are a major symbol of tThe mMiddle aAges, and maybe for an important reason. Castles would protect the village as a fort. Maybe more importantly, they would protect the king as they were homes for kings. Castles were also major architectural advances. Obviously when castles were being built they did not have any technology. So fFor them to build structures like this so often was very tough.

These pieces were first tested in 1216-1217 against a siege led by Prince Louis of France, titled the great siege of 1216. The effort was to help the barons take over King John. In doing this the barons would crown Prince Louis the king. The French attacked the southeast part of England first. John fled, and many southeast castles ”Welcomed Louie with open arms”. Castles are one of the most symbolic things from the middle ages, that is because they helped protect their country in wartime and entertaining their most important people in peacetimes of the European countries which used them. These castles were built to last and will be around for centuries to come and possibly, but unlikely ,even be used again in the future in war time.
