The employees should be a reflection of the business and of the business leader. The leader must know what things motivate the employees so that progress is constantly staying high. This means that the leader must be close to the employees on the team in order to have the best idea of what makes the employees work the hardest and also what makes the employees find their work monotonous and boring. But in order to get to know and understand the team of employees the leader may have to sacrifice some time and effort. This could mean walking around the business or running the business in the manor of a small business where the leader also works with the employees to maintain a good relationship and assure the high progress of the team. A leader must be honest with the team to be sure that things are being done on course with the company’s standards. If someone has a problem with a leader’s honesty, they do not truly care about the success of the team in the company. A good team member must be able to adjust when given directions to in order for the team to be as strong and effective as it can be. Honesty from a team leader towards the team also contributes to the ability of a team’s effectiveness. When a leader beats around the bush about what needs to get done, employees are much more likely to do the job wrong. Then employees are confused when the leader is not happy with the outcome of the task. But, if the leader comes right out and says what needs to be done, the team can get to work in the exact way the leader wants it to be done and know that the outcome will be what the leader wants.
Leaders who want to have the most success from employees will try to care about what is happening in their lives and care about them. Leaders must be able to take into consideration all the needs of the team members. In order for the members to be happy, some of their needs should be fulfilled. Fulfilling these can make the job seem easier, more enjoyable, and give the advantage to the leader because the team will be happy and hard
