I like an array of fruits, but when it comes to vegetables, it is a little more difficult for me. I like salads, however, so I try to pick a salad over something greasy that I know will upset my stomach when I go out to eat. At home, my mother fixes relatively healthy foods most of the time. She keeps me in check as for what I choose for snacks, always recommending me fruit. I have been struggling a bit this year with eating out, however, because my friends always want to go out to eat. I know how important it is, and my mother is constantly reminding me to put it on, but I did not listen until this summer. This summer, me and my friends took a trip to Florida together and we were out in the sun a lot. I put on sunscreen before we left one day but I forgot to reapply it as often as I should have, and my back was burned deep red. I was honestly terrified because I had never been burned that badly before. Luckily, I had a friend who helped me put aloe on the burn, and it did not turn out as horribly as I thought it would be. Now every time I go out to swim, I remember how horrible the burn was, and I apply sunscreen. I do not artificially tan because I have always heard bad things about it and I never really cared how tan I was. I have always been very pale, so the thought never occurred to me. If I want to be tan, I use sun-free tanning lotion and it works
