Importance Of Being A Writer

Before this class I thought that I was a pretty decent writer. After my first essay I realized how wrong I was, but this class has taught me all sorts of useful information and ways to keep improving myself as a writer. It has taught me how to write about things that are extremely personal to me, for example, I would have never imagined going back in time and writing about all of my friends coming to me about their deepest secrets, that would never have occurred to me to be interesting to read. I’ve always read books and stories that were tragic events and were very interesting to read, but I never knew that mine could be as well, like in my research paper I talked about my friend who wanted to commit suicide I stated, “he told me how he hated himself, how he hated his life, how he just wanted it to be over.” I never realized that …show more content…
It has allowed me to really sit back and think about what that writer had gone through. It gave me more skills to critique and be beneficial to others work. This class has broadened my thought process and it has made me realize certain things about myself that I probably never would have realized. Without this class I would have never gone back into my life time to sit back and think about why all of my friends decided to come to me to be the person too help them, but this class helped me try to understand that. In my research essay I found the article “10 Body Language Mistakes You Might Be Making” by Arlin Cuncic, and it talks about how people seem to be more attracted to people who smile for real. Cuncic states “with a real smile the upper part of your face changes rather than a fake smile, with a real smile your eyes scrunch more and you get crows feet, but with a fake smile you do not.” It made me take a step back and realize that people do tell me how I am always smiling. It helped me understand why people chose me to be their guide through their tough
