I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian during my freshman year of high school, and being accepted to ODU’s Biology program was the first step to achieving that goal. My heart began racing, my ears were filled with sound of rushing blood and a sweat started to break out over my forehead. With shaky hands I slowly began to tear through the top of the envelope. I poured out the contents on to my bed, picked up the sheet on top and read, “Congratulations, you have been accepted.”.
