I have always had a great interest in helping and working with others, as far back as I can remember. Having experienced personal problems at a young age made me have a deep perceptive beyond my years. My parents were teens and didn’t feel prepared to raise my siblings and me. As the second oldest I had to grow up fast with having the responsibility of being caretaker for my siblings. My childhood involved me with social workers that help me gain understanding of my brother who is Autistic. Watching the social workers advocate for my brother helped me develop empathy and compassion towards others, which are essential skills that is required as a social worker. My personal issues made me are determined to become a social worker. I want to advocate for people who need a voice or already have a voice but need the tools to be heard. I am currently employed in a nursing home as Life …show more content…
Furthering my education in the MSW program would increase my knowledge and ability to understand the society and its pressing issues.MSW program It would teach me more about advocate for social injustice . Advocating for social injustice would allow me to use my strengths that would impact the lives of others . I believe with my drive and strong work ethic and education from Texas A&M Commercer MSW program are essential in order for me to obtain my goals of helping people. The MSW program would add qualities and strengths that would allow me to work on behalf of those who need of health care, protection, education, and counseling.
