It is a bit surreal to think that I will be a senior at Endicott College in the fall. It feels as if just yesterday that I was 17-years-old, applying to colleges and hoping that once I secured a face-to-face interview, that I would be able to explain why my grades suffered my freshman year of high school. I was hoping that once in an interview that a reputable college would take a chance on me, to take into consideration the bullying I endured, for me to showcase my academic abilities. Endicott was that school. In 2013, I graduated Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and never looked back. Being declared the Vice President of the Communication’s department’s Lambda Pi Eta this past Fall was not only an honor but an amazing opportunity. A part of being inducted into the Lambda Pi Eta’s honor society included giving a speech to the rest of the society’s members, as well as the department’s dean and professors. During this speech I included how I came to the decision that I wanted to become a Journalism major as well as what events occurred that lead me to this decision. I also included how my public speaking skills have improved drastically since I gave my first speech to a room of Jewish Big Brother Big Sister donors, as well as Joe Kennedy, back in 2013, going into my freshman year at …show more content…
During a news broadcast I am able to talk about all of the events going on on campus, as well as stories that I may propose to the club’s leading professor to approve. Although the stories that I cover are not hard hitting nor am I viewed by many, just local broadcast watchers, being a part of ECTV is a wonderful learning and practicing opportunity for becoming a better aspiring news anchor. The club meets about once a week, twice if there is a lot happening that week. I have been a member of the club since my freshman
