However that is not enough! You must also be assertive in dealing with others; otherwise you will not be able to manage your team.
Remember you never need to be aggressive which is defined as “ready or likely to attack or confront,” but rather you need to be assertive. This is defined as: having or showing a confident, forceful and respectful personality to be able to stand with all classes of people in the world. Though personalities are in born, ones personality can be improved by practicing to be assertive.
It is my pleasure to share with you the following assertive training test bits. I hope they will improve your public relation with all the people you are likely to encounter in your life as a Christian.
1. WHEN ENTERING A SUPERIOR’S OFFICE, DON’T HOVER BY THE DOOR.
The closer you come to his or her desk, the more confident you may be. This may earn you respect from your host. Hovering means uncertainty of intentions and therefore it may deny you the good you deserved from your superior.
2. WHEN GOING THROUGH A LARGE DOOR OR OPEN DOUBLE DOOR, DON’T WALK ON ONE SIDE.

People instinctively respond more quickly to those who speak clearly and calmly, even in emergencies. If you cannot be understood easily when you speak. People have difficulty interpreting what you want from them. Speak up so that you are heard. Maintain eye conduct. Good eye conduct makes your listener feel that you respect them and it makes you look more confident to the other person. If you spent the conversation nervously glancing around you will look shifty or look as if you don’t care to respect what the other person is saying. Be careful, too much eye conduct may look as if you are staring out at them and cause more trouble than you bargained
