How To Be Successful In College Essay

Now that I am older and more mature I am more responsible and better prepared to be successful in college. Thanks to technology, and financial aid I am able to attend college online and not worry about financing my tuition. To get a teaching license, I do need to have a bachelor 's degree in education, however I do not need an alumni to network at school or work. I truely like the idea of college unbound, and I hope that my children will use this experience to benefit them when it is time for them to make decisions about their future. I am not your typical college student. I am in my 30’s, I have three children, I have a full time job already. I was not set for college when I was 18. Back then college was in person, expensive, and I did not have the discipline or the money to pay for school. I didn’t know what degree I was interested in. Fifteen years after I graduated high school, I signed up for online college courses, technology had progressed, and so did my values in life. I now have the discipline, persistence, resources, and the financial aid I needed to be successful in my pursuit of higher level of education.

I am going to school to get the credentials I need to get the job I want. I do not care about creating a network of alumni friends. I already have friends, and have lived this long without alumni friends. Since I started going to college, I haven’t had an abundance of time to spend with my friends. I have made some new supportive groups; moms in college, or moms who went to college before they had kids. I feel that I have an innovative respect. I don’t feel dumb, I am liberated, valued, and understood. I was only inspired to go to college after getting a job as a para educator, and further motivated after my divorce. I do agree that college teaches young adults how to manage life
